Shneiderman to Receive Honorary Doctorate from University of Melbourne
Ben Shneiderman, a Distinguished University Professor (emeritus) of computer science with an appointment in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies, will be honored next month with an honorary doctorate from the University of Melbourne.
Shneiderman will receive the prestigious Doctor of Engineering (Honoris Causa) on December 14 in recognition of his significant impact on the fields of human-computer interaction and information visualization.
Shneiderman will also present a free public lecture, supported by the University of Melbourne’s School of Computing and Information Systems.
