LCCD Predictive Analytics Research Featured by Associated Press TV

UMIACS research using predictive analytics and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) in an effort to stop illegal poaching in Africa was highlighted in an Associated Press Television story garnering worldwide attention.

The story features ongoing research in the Laboratory for Computational Cultural Dynamics (LCCD), one of 16 centers and labs in UMIACS. It includes on-camera commentary by V.S. Subrahmanian, a professor of computer science and director of LCCD, and Thomas Snitch, a visiting professor in UMIACS.

Others participating in the research include LCCD postdoc Edoardo Serra and Noseong Park, a fourth-year doctoral student in computer science.
