Fri May 30, 2014
David Doermann, a senior research scientist in UMIACS, has published a new book, the “Handbook of Document Image Processing and Recognition.” The handbook serves as a comprehensive resource on the available methods and techniques used in document image processing and recognition. It also includes unified comparison and contrast analysis of algorithms in standard table formats. Each chapter provides the reader with a clear overview of the topic and of the state-of-the-art techniques used, including elements of comparison between them. The handbook was co-authored with Karl Tombre, a professor at Université de Lorraine, France.
