Agrawala Wins Samsung GRO Award

Ashok Agrawala, professor of Computer Science and UMIACS, has received a cooperative research grant from Samsung to investigate proactive context-aware computing and systems. The award of up to $100,000 is part of Samsung's Global Research Outreach (GRO) program, which seeks innovative ideas from universities worldwide looking to partner with Samsung in mutually beneficial research relationships. Agrawala is interested in developing context-aware systems for smartphones that can predict and anticipate user intent and behavior, as well as situational and environmental changes, and respond proactively.
