$30K gift from Xerox Foundation supports UMIACS research

David Doermann, senior research scientist at UMIACS, and Raja Bala, principal research scientist at Xerox Research Center Webster, are combining their expertise in document imaging to design next-generation handheld scanning tools that are easy to use and computationally efficient. The research is funded in part by a $30,000 gift, renewable for three years, from the Xerox Foundation.
