Samet Named UCGIS Fellow

Hanan Samet, a Distinguished University Professor of computer science and a member of UMIACS, was just named a 2014 Fellow of the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS).
The award recognizes Samet’s groundbreaking work in the theory and development of spatial data structures.
Samet and two other scientists selected as Fellows will be honored at the annual UCGIS conference from May 19–21 in Pasadena, Calif.
