Nov 18, 2013
The University of Maryland recently hosted more than 350 middle school students at the annual “Cool Careers in Cybersecurity for Girls” workshop.
The daylong forum—sponsored by the Maryland Cybersecurity Center (MC2), Lockheed Martin and the National CyberWatch Center—engaged the young women in cybersecurity tasks in areas like identity theft and cell phone forensics.
Michel Cukier, associate director for education at MC2, says that the center aims to increase the number of women working in the cyber field through workshops like this.
