MC2 Director Katz Discusses Heartbleed Bug in Christian Science Monitor Article

Jonathan Katz, professor of computer science and director of the Maryland Cybersecurity Center (MC2), was quoted in a Christian Science Monitor article highlighting the still-existing threats from the security bug known as Heartbleed.

“Patching computers doesn’t cost anything. But having new certificates issued costs money. There has always been some speculation that incomplete fixes were a cost/benefit decision,” Katz said in the story.

MC2 is one of 16 centers and labs in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies.
