Louiqa Raschid and Sahana Software Foundation (SSF) involve in Hurricane Sandy relief efforts
Nov 17, 2012
Sahana Software Foundation (SSF), a world-leading open source disaster information management provider, is assisting community-based organizations with support and services for the populations affected by Hurricane Sandy in New York City and New Jersey. The foundation has installed a server (cloud hosted on Amazon EC2) that provides Sahana's Eden product with capabilities to help disaster response operations. Eden is currently assisting 'Occupy Sandy' - a volunteer group working to bring assistance to the affected NY and NJ communities.
Dr. Louiqa Raschid is a founding director of SSF. She has been actively involved with disaster management since the Asian tsunami of 2004.
