Larry Davis' Student Wins "Golden Award"

Jonghyun Choi, a doctoral student in electrical and computer engineering advised by Larry Davis, was awarded the "Golden Award" in the annual Samsung Humantech Paper Competition for his paper on a classification generalization technique used for object and image recognition problems in computer vision.

The "Golden Award" is a prestigious annual technical award by Samsung Electronics and is the top award. Fifteen individuals or teams received this honor, including 10 individuals or teams competing in the college category. Students from Korea and abroad submitted nearly 2000 papers to compete for the awards. Samsung announced that 684 panels reviewed the papers to select the winners.
