Jimmy Lin Wins 2014 Faculty Award

Jimmy Lin, an associate professor in the iSchool with an appointment in UMIACS, has received the 2014 Faculty Award for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity from the University System of Maryland Board of Regents.
This prestigious award recognizes Lin's early research on question answering, and later applications to the clinical domain, at the National Library of Medicine.
Lin has also contributed to production services designed to surface relevant content to users of the popular social media tool Twitter. And, he is recognized for his work in analytics infrastructure to support data science on petabytes of data.
