Influential Paper by William Pugh Receives “Test of Time” Award

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) recognized William Pugh, professor emeritus in computer science and UMIACS, for a paper he authored 21 years ago.

Pugh is the first recipient of the ACM/IEEE “Test of Time” award, which acknowledges a manuscript on supercomputing from a past conference that has deeply influenced the high performance computing discipline.

He will receive the award and give a talk at this year’s conference on November 21 in Denver, Colo.
