Duraiswami, Foster Promoted to Full Professor

Two noted researchers in UMIACS, Ramani Duraiswami and Jeff Foster, were each promoted to full professor in the Department of Computer Science, effective July 1.

Duraiswami is director of the Perceptual Interfaces and Reality Laboratory, where he leads multidisciplinary research that involves scientific computing, spatial audio, machine learning and computer vision.

Foster, a member of the Maryland Cybersecurity Center, focuses on developing programming languages and engineering approaches that can make software more reliable, secure and accessible.
