Bederson Appointed Executive Director of New Technology Learning Center

Benjamin Bederson, a professor of computer science and a member of UMIACS, has been named the new Associate Provost of Learning Initiatives and founding Executive Director of the newly established Teaching and Learning Transformation Center (TLTC).

The TLTC, located on campus, will provide leadership around teaching and learning, including the use of technology to transform students’ and instructors’ experiences, in the classroom and in an online environment. The center will integrate the Center for Teaching Excellence from the Office of Undergraduate Studies and the Learning Technologies and Environments group from the Division of Information Technology.  

Bederson is prior director of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab at UMIACS and the iSchool.
