Amy Weinberg named Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Study of Language (CASL)
Amy Weinberg has been named the Executive Director of the University of Maryland Center for Advanced Study of Language (CASL), replacing Founding Director Dr. Richard Brecht. As CASL’s deputy executive director, Dr. Weinberg has been instrumental in molding the center’s strategic partnerships and research agenda.
A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a PhD in linguistics and philosophy, Dr. Weinberg worked as an associate professor in the University of Maryland’s Department of Linguistics until 2004, when she joined CASL as area director for technology use. She is also an affiliate faculty with the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS).
